God Bless America; for how long?
By Andy Neckar

America's leader, President Bill Clinton, appoints homosexuals and lesbians to the White House staff, attends a homosexual United Methodist church in Washington D.C., vetoes bills to protect the unborn child and is involved in corruption and scandal.

Open homosexuals are serving in the United States Congress which seats are not bequeathed to the individual, but rather the occupants of these seats are elected by the people. Now, this can be expected from a pagan public, but the vast majority of Americans claim to believe in God. However, even this is not so inconceivable as the reality of our so-called Christian churches accepting and ordaining lesbians and homosexuals.

Induced abortions each year in America are at a rate higher than in any other of the industrialized Western nations. Only third world countries, the majority of whom do not know God, surpass the United States in the rate of abortion.

Over 30 million babies have been killed since 1973 when abortion was made legal in the U.S. Think about it. What God the Creator has condemned, man the creature has pronounced legal. Talk about rebellion. WOW!

One out of two marriages end in divorce. Over 30 million men and women are living together today without being married. Anywhere from 500,000 to 600,000 illegitimate births occur each year in America.

Radical feminists, in rebellion against God, (and man) are advocating female separatism. As Friedan's The Second Stage (1981) suggested, many feminists are also interested in building a new kind of family life. Despite some differences, most feminists support reproductive rights, including the right to abortion; criticize traditional definitions of gender roles; and favor raising children of both genders for similar public achievements and domestic responsibilities. Many wish to reform language so that it does not equate man with humanity, and they are getting their way, in the churches. The churches are ordaining women pastors, which God labels as usurping authority over men. Churches are replacing the old hymnals with gender inclusive hymnals, and gender inclusive Bibles.

Are the radical feminists solely at fault? I say no! Man is. The woman can only do what man will allow. Man has refused to assert his God given role of leadership because man has refused his God. Instead of leading women to righteousness before God, unrepentant men lead women into sin.

The covering (veil) of a woman that the Apostle Paul talks about in 1 Corienthians.11, man has violated. Man has led the woman in rebellion against the standing God has established between man and woman. (I speak not about Godly Christian men and women who seek to obey God in all things) Now even many professing Christian women act as though the covering has been removed.

Crime and drugs among the population are dramatically on the rise, especially among America's teenagers and children not yet into their teenage years. God says to train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6) But American is raising up their children in the way they should not go (devoid of biblical morals and Godly training) and when they are old they will not depart from it. We see this in the crime rate of the elders, who in the 60's were not trained up in the way God says they should go.

[The following two paragraphs excerpted from an article by Dean Robinson in the Plains Baptist Challenger, Oct.96 edition].

With grateful and humble hearts, Americans once honored the God who granted them blessings and freedom. But slowly, ever so surely, people in this country began to attribute their blessings, not so much to God, but to men, to themselves. God was put in the back seat and man elevated himself to be his own god. Almost drowning themselves in materialism, self-centeredness, and pride, many Americans decided that they really did not need God in their lives after all. Some began to tamper with God's Word and His standards of right and wrong and began to tolerate what they would never have thought of or allowed before. That which God said was never right could now be looked upon as being sometimes right, depending o

As a result of all this, many have tried to camouflage sin with new terminology. What God called drunkenness, today we call it alcoholism; God said it was a sin, but today people say it is a disease. What God called sodomy, people call it being 'gay;' God calls it a perversion, an abomination, but people call it an alternate lifestyle. What God calls immorality, people are calling it the new morality. When God calls lying, cheating, stealing a sin, people call them today as abnormal social behavior.
[End of excerpt]

God has ordained human government to control sin in this present world. (Romans 13:1-7) Government is to restrain sin and promote an orderly society by rewarding righteousness and punishing evil. But Caesar is hastening iniquity and the people follow after Balaam. Why then, is American so blessed by God?

This nation (America) was founded upon God given principles. Anyone exerting a minute amount of effort can easily discover that America was settled early on, in the most part, by Christians. The Governmental branch of this new country was founded by God fearing men. Our Constitution was written by God fearing men. Because of this, God has blessed America.

The Lord has exceedingly blessed this nation in freedom, wealth, industrial and military might, and the most abundantly comfortable lifestyle the world has ever seen or even imagined. The Lord has multiplied America much more than the nations round about. But now God's judgment is not long in coming. As He judged Israel in her apostasy so will He soon judge America. These verses addressed to Israel, can now be addressed to this nation.

Ezek 5:7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are round about you; (KJV)

Ezek 5:8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations. (KJV)

Note…neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are round about you; This tells us that we have not led the nations round about us in righteousness. We have not, as a nation, judicially pronounced a verdict or formal decree of divine law on the nations round about. We have not set an example to the rest of the world as to how our "One Nation Under God", walks in obedience to God. When we, as a nation, turn away from the God we profess to be under, and when our nation's churches turn away from the God they profess to worship, and when this nation's people show no gratitude for the blessing God had bestowed on this nation, we are then ripe for the judgment of God.

When God judges the guilty, those made righteous by the blood of Christ suffer too. In many cases the elect suffer even when the wicked nation in which they live prosper due to the long-suffering of God. But that's another story.
Because we have not led the nations in the fear of the Lord, and obedience to Him, we face coming disaster.

Ezek 7:8 Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations. (KJV)

The churches are trying to change our government and better our society, but who will change our churches. In this day and time our churches are for the most part as heretical as our government. Can the sick heal the sick, or the blind lead the blind?

I have deep compassion for the lost sinners, those who have not heard the gospel, and those who have heard the perverted gospel. But I do not have compassion on those who preach a perverted gospel. For the most part, the noted evangelists of today do not preach the gospel of Christ, the only gospel that is the power of God unto salvation. (Rom. 1:16)

America is in big trouble. Our nations government, along with the world, led by our churches and the clergy, is working hand in hand with Satan as he confidently goes about building his latter day church. He is confident because he has what the world perceives as God's people working for and with him.

Is it too late for America? I don't know. If by some miracle we as a nation turn back to our God, we have this promise--

2 Chr 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (KJV)

What can True Christian's do? We can pray, stand for the truth and do what the Lord God enables us to do. As for me, I will continue to expose what wolves in sheep's clothing I can identify by their works,(Satan's workers) and wait for His coming. I will watch, wait, and occupy till He comes.(Luke 19:13) Even so; Come Lord Jesus.

The Issue: Moral Decay Is Bigger Than The Economy

According to exit polls, Americans worry more about moral decay than about the economy., They fear our society is slowly coming unraveled. These worries and fears are justified.

Our books, movies, art, television, and music are a unified chorus of smut and anti-social message. We burn flags and crosses; we curse and scream in public places; the media make celebrities of serial murderers; our children are taught about condoms in the third grade; the Boy Scouts are under attack to embrace atheists and homosexuals; the family is being legally undermined; churches are pressured to rewrite Scriptures to accommodate those who are proud of their transgressions; religious apartheid is officially sanctioned and practiced by the government; and bewildered taxpayers are told they have no choice but to pay for liberal propaganda on public television, pornographic, and blasphemous art, and the killing of unborn babies.

The full syndrome describing our societal illness is well documented and included mindless violence, child abuse, divorce, drunkenness, AIDS, teen-age suicide, drugs, streetgangs, rape, illegitimacy, abortion, pornography, sexual disorientation, lying, cheating, political corruption, and Wall Street scandals.

All over the nation, thoughtful people are asking; What has happened to us? Who is responsible?

There is no mystery. For 30 years we have allowed the systematic, step-by-step dismantlement of a structure of morals and standards carefully put in place to protect us from the primeval forces of our Dark Side,

No-fault living has become the order of the day in America. "Sin" is an archaic idea. Right and wrong as moral concepts have been abolished. Moral discernment has been deemed judgmental and discriminatory. God is scorned -- but tolerated if He stays in His place.

We seem to have forgotten that the greatest period of prosperity, good will, and civility in America occurred when children prayed in schools and politicians openly solicited the blessings of the Creator.

An examination of the content of political discourse in America reveals a significant shift from the spiritual to the secular.

Until the latter half of the 20th century, references to faith in God and moral codes were standard in the editorials and political commentary found in newspapers. This followed a pattern clearly evident in the founding documents, the inaugural addresses of presidents, history texts, and campaign oratory.

In volume I of Democracy in America, Alexis de Tocqueville described the connection between self-government and spirituality. Speaking with admiration of the founders, he wrote, 'They must know that liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith."

This theme was echoed by George Washington in his famous Farewell Address when he argued that "reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.'

And this same theme openly expressed by Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren in an interview with Time magazine, Feb.15, 1954. "I believe no one can read the history of our country ... without realizing that the Good Book and the spirit of the Saviour have from the beginning been our guiding geniuses."

Such words and sentiments have effectively disappeared from the political commentary on the editorial pages of most newspapers. They are politically incorrect.

Even cartoons with religious messages are being censored. Johnny Hart, who produces the comic strip 'B.C.," is one of the most widely read as well as one of the most beloved cartoonists in the world. However, 'B.C.' did not appear in the Los Angeles Times on December 25, 1995. It did not pass muster with the editors. It depicted a Christmas tree angel shouting "Behold!" But that was not the problem. What the editors found offensive was an entry in tiny print between the panels. It said, "Luke 2:10."

What they didn't find too offensive to print was a week-long series of Gary Trudeau's comic strip, "Doonesbury", which carried the fraudulent message that the Catholic church historically encouraged and performed homosexual marriages.

The selective sensitivity of this major, liberal newspaper reveals its editorial biases (religious intolerance) and brings into full view its standards for what is mainstream and acceptable in today's America (homosexuality) and what is fringe and taboo (Luke 2:10).

Each of our lives and all of human history can be understood in terms of a struggle between good and evil, between that which is the best within us and that which is the worst. The rise and fall of civilizations mirror the ebb and flow of this struggle.

Perhaps that is what Thomas Jefferson was thinking when he said: "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just."

Pope Embraces Evolution:
Paul John Paul II now has indicated from Rome that there may be some basis for evolution. He calls it "compatible with faith", and says "we may descend from monkeys"(11/4 Christian News) This leaves the door wide open for anti-Christian morality. This heretical pope has caught up with the times, and the Promise Keeper adherents, devoid of discernment because of spiritual darkness are happy to announce in their Christian churches that they are "holding hands" with those who claim this pope as their "Vicar of Christ" on this earth. Men such as this are leaders in your church & community? Think about it.

Charismatic Philosophy
Dr. M.H. Reynolds (Foundation Magazine) says,...Charismatic leaders not only refuse to warn believers about the false gospel still being preached by the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches, but they advocate full cooperation with these abominable false churches. Likewise, there is no warning at all about the apostate ecumenical movement but rather a willingness to join it. God's Word commands walls be built to separate truth from error, but the charismatic philosophy teaches that bridges must be built between the two…" (Calvary Contender 12/1/96)

Fundamentalism
is distinguished by that Scriptural spirit of jealousy for God which finds its greatest expression in the militant defense of the faith through the consistent exposure of and separation from any contrary spirit…' It's distinctive practice is it's refusal of any form of fellowship to the professing believer who walks in a pattern of Scriptural disobedience. (Bob Dalton, 11/1/96 Baptist Vision; Calvary Contender 12/1/96)

Charismatic Confesses
Charismatic Tom Forrest, concluding his Sat. evening message at the North American Congress on the Holy Spirit and World Evangelization, held July 22-25 1987 in New Orleans LA, unwittingly shed some biblical light on the situation. He stated; "He (God) tells us in Acts 12:7 and 2 Corinthians 11:14 that we must be angels of light. Say, fellows and girls, that's us! Angels of light in this world!" But 2 Corinthians 11:14 in context unequivocally states: "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." (excerpt from July-August 1996 Foundation)
