Dumb Dogs pastor Politically Correct Churches.
By Andy Neckar
(From an ABP News article of 1/99)
Isa 56:10-11 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
Many growing churches aren't reaching non-believers, said Roddy Clyde, pastor of the Fellowship at Forest Creek, formerly known as Trinity Baptist Church in Round Rock, Texas. Many seemingly successful churches have created a climate attractive to people who already are believers, and thus experience mainly "transfer growth," he said.
[Editor] HEY-that's what I have always said. "Church Fellowship" is for "Believers". Is there anything wrong with an assembly of BELIEVERS? This Baptist pastor and many others just like him find fault with God's way. Hey-if we don't do "like the world" we are to be reprimanded.
[Article] To back up his claim, Clyde cited research he and his colleagues have conducted. A survey of all the Baptist churches in his Texas association, for example, found that fewer than 3 percent of all the people who regularly attend services were previously unchurched. More than 97 percent had transferred their membership from another house of worship. The modern church is "missing the point," Clyde said. "The point is to reach people for Christ and help them grow to be like him. We are missing the point by trying to keep people for Christ and helping them grow to be like us. We have become increasingly focused on maintaining the kingdom instead of growing it."
[Editor] Whoa there now! A few questions please. How did the "lost sinner" ever become the "unchurched"? See how the churches are into political correctness now. A lost sinner headed for hell doesn't sound too good, so they have changed it to the unchurched. The have changed the truth into a lie, just as they have changed "sodomy" into "alternate lifestyle", and "homosexual" into "gay".
Missing the point? The point is to "reach people" for Christ, not bring them within "arms reach". We are to go "into the world" to preach the gospel of Christ to the "lost", not to the "unchurched". We are not to look for the "harvest" in the assemblies (churches). We are to go "into the world" and "bring the gospel to them". The churches idea of this is to attract the unchurched to them and have them receive "a gospel". (I am not so sure what kind) Yes folks, the churches don't want to "bring the gospel to the lost", they want the lost to "come and get it"
We are to grow the Kingdom by going out into the world and preaching the gospel, and we are to maintain, (advocate, support) it by the assembling of ourselves together. We are to grow the KINGDOM and grow the FAITH. You see the word "ourselves". That is, people "like us". We are not to assemble with the "world"; rather we are to assemble "ourselves".
[Article] The primary problem is that most churches "do church in a way that is culturally (uplifting, enriching) irrelevant (foreign, different, opposite) to the unchurched," Clyde maintaines.
[Editor] These false teachers are adding to the church flocks of lost sinners, and are giving them the priority. This just hastens the "falling away" that Christ prophesied. You CANNOT mix God's children and Satan's children together. The children of the Devil always win out. A little leaven leavens the whole lump. (local church). As time progresses many more churches are falling into this deception, adding even more leaven. A LOT of leaven leavens the whole lump much FASTER. Have you noticed at what rapid pace this apostasy has progressed here lately?
[Article] Such gains are possible only when people and churches are pushed beyond their comfort zones, Clyde said. "We cannot consistently continue to reach people for Christ within our comfort zone."
[Editor] Such hypocrisy! This man is disobeying God to "go into the world" because he refuses to leave his "comfort zone". I believe the assembling of ourselves together (local church) is to be the Christian comfort zone.
1Thes 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
It is to be part of our growing in faith zone.
1 Pet 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
2 Pet 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
It is to be a discipline zone.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
It is to be "much more" than what I have listed, but it is NOT to be a "mixed herd". This is to be a "pure" flock, not a "Heinz 57" The assembly (church) is to be a "pure" flock of sheep with Christ as the Chief Shepherd, not a "Heinz 57" with the anti-christ as shepherd.
The shepherds, who should be the watchmen of the flock, to discover the approaches of the "wolves in sheep's clothing", to keep them off, and protect the sheep, are dumb dogs. They have no sense or knowledge of their business. They are woefully ignorant of their work, and very unfit to teach, being so ill-taught themselves: His watchmen are blind, and therefore utterly unfit to be watchmen. If the seers see not, who shall see for us? If the light that is in us be darkness, how great is that darkness! Christ describes the Pharisees to be blind leaders of the blind, (Mt. 15:14)
Now get this. These modern day Pharisees call us "true watchmen" Pharisees. Isn't that something? A dumb dog calling a faithful shepherd/watchman a wolf? They bark at God's watchmen, and bite them too, and worry the sheep, but take no notice of the wolf.
They are all ignorant shepherds that cannot understand what is to be done about the sheep. They can't feed them with understanding. They cannot impart something they themselves lack. The sheep are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (understanding) .(Hosea 4:6) The sheep are destroyed for lack of a faithful watchman. Many watchmen are dumb dogs. The sheep are destroyed for lack of a shepherd. Many shepherds (pastors) are wolves in sheep's clothing themselves.
Punishing Good-Rewarding Evil
A former police officer in San Jose, Calif., has been officially designated "disabled" because of his addiction to gambling. The Police and Fire Retirement Board awarded Johnny Venzon, Jr., early retirement and an annual pension of $27,000, even though he was incarcerated at the time for burglary.Venzon claimed he was forced to steal to support his gambling addiction. Medical experts said his obsessive-compulsive gambling habit represented a "pathological" problem that effectively prevented him from being a police officer (AFA Journal, 1/99).
[Editor] What can I say? How 'bout this?
Kansas Senate Prayer
The recent news item about the Dallas City council reviewing its tradition of opening meetings with prayer, because some members are offended by the mention of Jesus Christ, reminded me of the following story about a Kansas pastor.
When pastor Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual politically generalities. But on January 23, 1996, what they heard instead was a stirring prayer, passionately calling our country to repentance and righteousness.
The response was immediate - with a number of legislators walking out during the prayer. In six short weeks Central Christian Church logged more than 5000 phone calls, with only 47 of these calls responding negatively. Commentator Paul Harvey aired Pastor Joe Wrights' prayer on the radio and received a larger response to this program than any other program Paul Harvey has ever aired. In addition, Central Christian church is now receiving international request for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea.
The prayer is reprinted below as an encouragement and challenge for each of us to stand for the truth of the Gospel wherever the Lord gives us opportunity.
"Heavenly Father, we come before You today to ask Your forgiveness and seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your word says, "woe on those who call evil good," but that's exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values."
"WE CONFESS THAT:
We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your word and called it pluralism;
We have worshipped other gods and call it multi-culturalism;
We have indorsed sodomy and called it an alternate life style.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery;
We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation;
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare;
We have killed our unborn and called it choice;
We have shot abortionist and called it justifiable;
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem;
We have abused power and called it political savvy;
We have coveted our neighbors' possessions and call it ambition;
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression;
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightment;
Search us, oh God, and know our hearts today; Try us and see if there be some wicked way in us; Cleans us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent here by the people of Kansas, and who have been ordained by You, to govern this great state.
Grant them Your wisdom to rule and may their decisions direct us to the center of Your will. I ask it in the name of Your Son, the Living Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen."
[Editor] We now must add another. We have endorsed sin-again- and redefined greed as a disability.
Preeminence in Baptist Churches
By Andy Neckar
I was saved in my home in 1991 by reading my old Roman Catholic Bible, the New American Bible. The Holy Spirit of God revealed to me that the Roman Catholic Church and all of it's tenets were wrong, and that contrary to it's teachings that "there is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church", I found that "there was no salvation IN that church". I was baptized, by request, in a Southern Baptist Church 2 blocks from my home. I remained a member of the SBC for about a year until I became disillusioned with the "Nashville Vatican" and its hold on these churches and joined up with the Independent Baptists.
Since the last of May 1998 I have not attended any Independent Baptist Churches (IBC) because of gross error I have encountered in the five or so local IBC's I have been fellowshipping with.
Don't get me wrong, I don't "hate" IBC's. Don't tell me, as so many have, that, "just because you were hurt by some Independent Baptist Churches, don't take it out on 'all' of them". I "take it out" on "all "of them of "like principle". If the shoe fits, wear it.
You hear some churches speak out against such things as the major flaws in Government, from local to national. You hear some speak of the American Public School System. You hear a few speak on church discipline. Most don't. You hear some speak on obedience to the "headship" and "dress" commands, and "pastoral rule". They "always" speak on what "other people" do and almost "never" on what goes on in "their" church. They "always" speak on about people doing what is right, but never about themselves doing wrong.
Well, now you get a chance to hear "the other side of the story". Folks, I tell it like it is. I just relay old messages from my Master. I am a messenger of Christ. This is nothing new. Now--on with the story.

Dr. Ed DeVries
Independent Baptist Evangelist and Church Planting Missionary to Hockley, TX Sponsored by Shady Acres Baptist Church of Houston, Texas, Pastor Danny Farley
Please notice all the preeminent titles. Count them, there are five. Doctor-Independent Baptist-Evangelist-Missionary-Church Planter.
Do these type of missionaries place their faith in the Lord and "wait on Him"? I believe not. I believe they "wait on the money". This type of missionary I call "moochinary" church planters and they are out on "begutation".
This notice is taken from the 1/11/99 News of Interest Newsletter.
"Evangelist Ed DeVries and his wife Sherri are currently on deputation to raise support for a church plant in Hockley, Texas. The new work is sponsored by the Shady Acres Baptist Church of Houston, Texas."
DeVries says in that same newsletter; "I know of a preacher who has supposedly been called to nine mission fields and still does not know where God wants him".
I don't think this preacher is wishy-washy. He is just where HE wants to be. This man is probably enjoying his role as "world traveler" paid for as the results of his labors in begutation.
Lord willing, I am going to plant a church here in Hico. I pray that this may come about around the middle of February of this year. I am not going from church to church "selling" my reasons to plant a church here in Hico. The Lord gave the burden to me. He will equip me. I do this because I have been "run out on a rail" of error and "by error"-not by "church discipline"-- in the local IBCs . In my search for Truth in Churches, I have exhausted the local churches in a 55-mile radius of Hico
This was taken from the questions & answers portion of Ed DeVries e-mail newsletter of 1/11/99.
"ROCHELLE ASKS: "I am confused as to what is right about the Lords Supper. I am taught that once a year to saved members only of like faith and order is correct but in the Bible it say's this do ye, as oft as ye drink it. I have been to other Baptist Churches where on holidays at Bible camps and some have it at regular times."
"ANSWER [Dr. DeVries]: The Bible says "as oft" as you take it. It does not specify how often. By reading the epistle to the Corinthians we surmise that the Church at Corinth took the Lord's Supper at every service. However, scripture does not command us to do so. Also, scripture does not command only once a year. Scripture simply says "as oft." Therefore, it does not matter how regularly or at what interval a church partakes of the ordinance so long as the ordinance is observed".
Listen to this. The "example" set by the Corinthian Church as regards the "Lord's Supper" is not to be followed. Once a year, in some cases, is "often enough" to remember the Broken Body sacrificed and the Blood shed for our salvation. We are at liberty, they say. I say, yes we are, and sometimes our liberty shows what importance we hold to the things that bring Christ into remembrance.
The remembrance of the "broken" body of Christ, when the ordinance is held, is reduced to the convenience of a "cracker in the whole". There is no "breaking of bread" in these churches.
But-listen to "this". When it comes to "planting" a church they say; "he must be called of God, trained, ordained, and sent out by a local, Independent Baptist Church". They say that the example of Acts 13:1-4 "must" be followed, and if not followed, this will NOT be a TRUE CHURCH. These Cathopists (Catholic/Baptist Only/True/Church/Holding Apostolic/John/the/Baptist Successionists) hold to some of the same errors that the Roman Church does. There is only one difference in what the Roman Catholic Church claims of herself and what these certain Baptists claim for themselves. The Roman Church claims succession from the apostle Peter while these Baptists claim succession from John the Baptist.
WHY-I ask, do these Baptist "Vicar's of Christ" affirm one example as "Christian Liberty" (Acts 2:46) and change the other into a "Command"? (Acts 13:1-4) Why? It is evident this is because it gives the Baptist Name and Baptist Hierarchy preeminence.
Why is the command to forsake not the assembling of ourselves together, (Heb 10:25) which leaves the matter of "how often" to example, (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor 16:2) changed into a command of "every time the church doors are open"? Preeminence is why.
Why is "storehouse tithing" preached in these churches, when even John R. Rice, a noted Independent Baptist evangelist and founder of the "Sword of the Lord" calls this teaching heresy? Why? Preeminence, that's why.
Many Independent Baptist Churches preach of error in others, yet hold to even greater error themselves. What confusion reigns in the churches today. And you know what? God is not the author of confusion. (1 Cor 14:33)
Persecution of the "Worst Kind" Coming
Conservative Christians in California fear that newly elected Gov. Gray Davis will support two bills that would prohibit churches from criticizing the homosexual lifestyle. The two bills passed both state houses last year before being vetoed by Republican Gov. Pete Wilson. One would bring churches under the state Fair Employment and Housing Act. The other bill would allow individuals to file taxpayer-funded lawsuits against Christian radio stations, private Christian schools, and other ministries whose religious convictions do not consent to an "alternative sexual orientation" (National Liberty Journal, 12/98).
[Editor] I believe that Christian persecution of the "worst kind" in coming to America "fast". Persecution for owning Bibles and persecution for preaching the gospel of Christ is bad enough, but we are soon to be compelled to accept, maybe even endorse, this one particular abomination before our God.
The "world" is well on its way to accept that which it formally condemned. The "churches" by denomination, or by one local church at a time are "leading" the world, not just following the world, in this final apostasy. The world and many churches are willingly following this pied piper of the anti-christ, but the CHURCH will have to be coerced, and when this coercion fails. LOOK OUT.
I don't know what to do but keep on doing what I'm doing now and look " for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; (Titus 2:13)
Dreams-Visions-Healings. The power of who?
An Iranian man became a Christian because of a dream. He told a Christian worker that he saw himself in a dream standing on the roof of his house, bathed in a bright light. "The light then moved down to illuminate a stream, which seemed to be made of light. I have consulted books and visited dream interpreters, but I can find no answer," he said. His friend told him Jesus is the light of the world, that the light was Jesus calling him to be saved, and the stream indicated he should be baptized. The man believed the interpretation, prayed to Jesus, and asked to be baptized, said "DAWN Fridayfax"((Discipling A Whole Nation. A weekly positive news service ) Many Muslims who have never heard the gospel are becoming Christians through dreams, Campus Crusade for Christ said.
In communist and Muslim-dominated countries, the church is experiencing great power, expressed in "miraculous healings and visions" that are bringing people to Christ. Healings and visions, are bringing people to Christ, said Steve Snyder of International Christian Concern, a human rights organization based in Washington, D.C. Muslims are having dreams in which Jesus appears and proclaims to be the Savior. Christians are at first wary when asked to explain the visions, but the Muslims are persistent and hundreds have come to believe in Jesus through them.
[Editor] How else can there be "one religion" unless Satan appears as an "angel of light" to convert the "world" to the "anti-christ?
The "gospel of Christ" is the power of God unto salvation, and "dreams, visions and healings" are the power of Satan unto condemnation.
Folks, pretty soon the devil will have the "whole world in his hands".
Racial Reconciliation-Another Gospel.
An international gathering of Baptists from 30 countries attended an International Summit of Baptists Against Racism, held Jan. 8-11 in Atlanta. It was sponsored by the Baptist World Alliance and issued a call for churches to combat racism and ethnic strife worldwide.
Take a look at all the "important issues" addressed at this gathering.
There was affirmation to promote racial justice and to promote efforts to eradicate racism and fight against ethnic conflict worldwide. Baptists are to be "agents of reconciliation" and work for integrated worship, holistic evangelism, the elimination of unfair trade and protection of the rights of aboriginal and tribal peoples. The " Atlanta Convention" defines affirmation of racial justice "as an integral part" of the gospel, which promotes economic development as a means of achieving racial justice and cautions against use of only religious images that portray Jesus as a white man.
Let's stop here for awhile. I have an important comment or two. I never did know that racial justice was an integral (central, main, chief) part of the gospel. I always thought that the "central and complete purpose" of the "gospel" was to 'reconcile us to God", not each other. I can't find in God's Word where anyone ever preached "economic development" as a means of reconciliation
Reconciliation to each other through "any means" will NOT reconcile us to God. Maybe it will to a god of this world, but not to the God of the Bible. The ONLY kind of gospel I can find being preached in the Bible is the "gospel of Christ". Repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that what He did is the ONLY work that can save us from hell. This must be one of those "other gospels" the apostle Paul warned about.
Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
2 Cor 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
I KNOW they preach another Jesus. I read that the man Jesus was born a Jew of a Jewish mother, in a Jewish nation. I read that He was born in Bethlehem in Israel, not some place in Africa. Any mention of black Jews in your Bible?
The Atlanta Conference says, "We recognize that the almost exclusive use of white images of Jesus has limited our understanding of and witnessing to the incarnation." It recommends that Baptist publishing houses "use multi-racial images and idioms (irregular language-idiosyncrasy of speech) throughout their worship and educational materials".
The only thing I can figure could "limit" their understanding of, and witness to the incarnation or revelation of Jesus Christ as the Son of God is a "lack" of understanding.
Eph 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart
This here has a lot to do with it.
1 Tim 1:7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
This here says a lot.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Are these Baptists better than Jesus now? If nationality (black yellow, white, red) and slave or free, even male or female, does not matter to Jesus, why do these black men need a black Jesus? Hey-WHO is racially prejudiced here? God is willing to save them according to the interracial gospel of Christ, but they hold out for a black Savior? Just WHO is racially motivated here?
My family and I have "never" been racially motivated. I have had black friends in my home. My children have had black children in my home. While there, they were made to feel at home. In my former place of business I have employed Anglo American, (white) African American, (black), Mexican American & Green Card holders, (brown) and Vietnamese.(???) That was before I came to know Christ as my Savior. I have never been prejudiced as to race or color. So much the more now as a child of God, who was bought with a price, (1 Cor 7:23) purchased with the Blood of Jesus Christ (Acts 20:28) and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. (Eph 1:13)
Glory be to God, I am one day going Home to Heaven where there is no DIFFERENCE. There is no color. There is no nationality. There is no gender as we know it. There is only one creed, and this is, "that which was prophesied has been fulfilled". We shall ever be with the Lord. (1 Thess 4:17)
My Home is a place where THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.
On The Light Side
A Political Pun
A man takes the day off work and decides to go out golfing. He is on the second hole when he notices a frog sitting next to the green. He thinks nothing of it and is about to shoot when he hears, "Ribbit 9 Iron."
The man looks around and doesn't see anyone. Again, he hears, "Ribbit 9 Iron." He looks at the frog and decides to prove the frog wrong, puts the club away, and grabs a 9 iron. Boom! He hits it 10 inches from the cup. He is shocked. He says to the frog,"Wow that's amazing. You must be a lucky frog, eh? The frog replies, "Ribbit Lucky frog."
The man decides to take the frog with him to the next hole. "What do you think frog?" the man asks. "Ribbit 3 wood." The guy takes out a 3 wood and, Boom! Hole in one. The man is befuddled and doesn't know what to say. By the end of the day, the man golfed the best game of golf in his life and asks the frog, "OK where to next?"
The frog replies, "Ribbit Las Vegas." They go to Las Vegas and the guy says, "OK frog, now what?" The frog says, "Ribbit Roulette." Upon approaching the roulette table, the man asks, "What do you think I should bet?" The frog replies, "Ribbit $3000, black 6." Now, this is a million-to-one shot to win, but after the golf game the man figures what the heck. Boom! Tons of cash comes sliding back across the table. The man takes his winnings and buys the best room in the hotel. He sits the frog down and says, "Frog, I don't know how to repay you. You've won me all this money and I am forever grateful".
The frog replies, "Ribbit-Kiss Me." He figures why not, since after all the frog did for him, he deserves it. With a kiss, the frog turns into a gorgeous woman. "And that, your honor, is how the girl ended up in my room. So help me or my name is not William Jefferson Clinton."
I don't know when He's coming, (Matt 24:36) but I do know where He's coming from. (Heb 12:2) I don't know when He's gonna get here, (1 Thess 5:2) but I do know what He's gonna do when He does get here. (1 Thess 4:16-17) He's gonna come for me and He's gonna make me rich and give me things money can't buy. He gonna make me happy beyond my wildest dreams. The Passover Supper that brought me to remembrance of how I got here, is gonna be replaced with a Wedding Supper. I'm gonna be there. Only thing--I had to die in 1991 in order to be qualified to go.(Rom 6:1-7) He had to die in order to qualify me. (1 Cor 15:3) He paid a price so I could win. (Rom 5:8) He masked Himself before His people because they rejected Him. (Matt 13:13-15; Rom 11:25) But I know who this Masked Man is because the Word revealed Himself to me. (Matt 16:17)
He died so that I may live. (John 20:31) I "died like Him" (Rom chapter 6) so that I could "become like Him". (Rom 8:29; 2 Cor 3:18) His Father raised Him from the dead, (Acts 3:15)and now His Spirit renewed my spirit. (Titus 3:5) He's gonna live forever and so will I. ( 1John 5:11) He's gonna live in a new heaven and a new earth and so will I. (Rev 21:1) He's got an immortal Body, ( Luke 24:39;Acts 1:11) and so will I one day. I'll have that body the day He comes to get me. (1 Thess 4:16-17; 1 Cor 5:51-53) There will be some difference though. He's gonna get the glory and I'm gonna do the glorying. He gonna get the praise and I'm gonna do the praising. (1 Peter 4:11) I got what He died for (1 Timothy 1:15) and He's gonna get what He came for. (John 10:27-29)
I'm gonna start a church here in Hico. I'm gonna start this stuff here, now. I can't wait. (Heb 12:2)
We're gonna practice. We're gonna hold the Passover Supper weekly. We're gonna learn to sit at the table in respect and awe. We're gonna learn what to do and how to do it. We're gonna teach others how to eat and drink. We're gonna teach others "what" to eat and drink. We're gonna teach then to break unleavened bread and serve real wine. Beef (unleavened bread and wine)for supper folks, not some soybean substitute.(grape juice and an individual cracker in the whole). AMEN
I can't find a suitable truthful place to fellowship and worship, so I'm gonna start my own. Already three folks led to Christ in the last five weeks are awaiting baptism in Lake Whitney this year. My water heater is taking a long time.
Well folks, not much happening here in Hico lately, except for a lot of enthusiasm. The local church is gonna be "official" in Hico sometimes next month. God is already adding to it as should be saved.
Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll see you next month.
