Where is the Christian Witness?
By Andy Neckar

Good question I say. My answer: The Christian witness has all but disappeared. The witness to Jesus Christ, the Son of God, by the children of God, is not manifest in most churches, and it cannot be heard on most religious radio and TV programs. A "Christian Witness" cannot be heard at ANY of the great crusades of noted evangelists, or by most of the "religious" organizations.

Folks-God is still alive and well in the religious churches and organizations, but His Son Jesus Christ and His witness is DEAD. Nowadays the "christian religious witness" is of their father the Devil. The "Great Black Book" is a "Moral Code of Ethics". The author is of "man", and it is a "politically correct book" that tries to "counterfeit sinners" to "live" and "look" like "saints".

The great counterfeiter and his henchmen are at work, "preparing for his coming". Hold on tight and don't let go. Stand fast in the faith once delivered to the saints. (Jude 1:3)

This morning (5/26/99) I saw and heard on Pat Robinson's 700 Club a "christian witness". A young woman that in the 80's played drummer for rock star Prince, "converted" to Christianity. She now plays & sings gospel music. She still acts the same and dresses the same and plays the same, she just "changed the words". Her witness was that it was in the 70's when she "first" gave her heart to Jesus, but here lately she did it "again". Why-Jesus is her "best friend".

WITNESS ? No mention of repentance, no sign of change, no mention of sin and it's consequences. Folks-hell is STILL hot. Sin will STILL get you there. It REALLY DOES last forever. ALL people STILL go there UNLESS they are born again in Jesus Christ.

No repentance in the testimony, no Christian testimony. Christ came to preach REPENTANCE.

Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Also Matt 9:13 and Mark 2:17

We are to preach REPENTANCE.
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Repentance AND faith is salvation.
Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

God wants REPENTANCE.
Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Get that? "repentance unto life". Folks-we can SEE repentance in the life of a person. REPENTANCE produces FRUIT.

Matt 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Repentance produces good works that are suitable and legitimizes, or shows proof of repentance

We have the Protestant churches embracing The Roman Catholic Church. The wayward "daughters" are going home to Rome and Holy "Mother" Church. The REAL gospel of Christ is being left out of Christianity. The power of God (Rom 1:16) has been taken from the gospel.

Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Now the second, that most churches preach is powerless, in that it too, is at fault by their hands, which really is not the gospel once delivered to the saints, but a perverted gospel. MUCH more perverted than when the apostle Paul wrote this.

Gal 1:6-7 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Many Baptist, who say they are not Protestant, (and maybe they aren't) strangle the gospel by claiming "only they" are authorized to accomplish the Great Commission. They claim to be the "ONLY" ONE TRUE CHURCH. They claim that ONLY THEIR CHURCHES can authorize new churches and only they can scripturally baptize, and THEIR churches are in "perpetual succession" from Jesus Christ. This is claimed of the churches that are supposedly "sound" in the faith.

The "other" Baptist churches are falling like flies. They ordain women, perform "same sex" marriages, and bless same sex covenant relationships. They take out the Baptist name because of the reputation of the name. A reputation that came by the Baptists a LONG TIME AGO. That reputation is falling by the wayside, as is the gospel of Christ.

It won't be long folks. The Baptists are beginning to join the crowd. They already have much of the same stigma as the apostate religious world. They have had forever the error of "hirelings". That is an individual "fixed salaried" pastor. They teach the grave error of "storehouse tithing". As a matter of fact, tithing by any name in the New Testament is NOT scriptural. Many of the Baptist churches that folks consider sound, believe in the sinner coming to them. They don't believe in leaving the comfort of their homes or the church house, and going to the sinner.

Many of them are more concerned with feeding the goats and starving the sheep. And more are following suit daily. They have music ministers. They think they can praise their way into heaven. They have entertainment ministers. They want you to have a "good time" on your way to hell. They have diet and exercise ministers for a "physically fit body," so you can be in "good shape" to withstand an eternity in the lake of fire.

Oh, if only ministers would study the Bible to show themselves approved unto GOD, and not unto man or the prince of this world. Most of the "sound" ministers of "any" church are as dumb dogs. They will not bark. (Isaiah 56:10) They want to leave "well enough alone".

However-there are some that are hanging on to God's Truth. There are some assemblies that try and meet as a New Testament church-in practice-not just in name only. There are some that still hold to God's Word but don't strive for New Testament principles out of ignorance. A year ago I used to be in the last class. These I pray for-I don't denounce them. It is those that don't know any better and refuse to listen and study the scriptures to see if this is true, that I "admonish". It is those that ALREADY KNOW BETTER yet are never changing that I "denounce".

What else can I say? I fear for many of you.

2 Cor 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

I may be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge. I thoroughly make manifest among you all things in Christ. I pray that God open your eyes to His Truth in ALL things. AMEN.

Modern Christian Music: Satan's New & Powerful Weapon.
By Andy Neckar

First, I just want to thank God for making this award possible." "Thank you. Thank you very much. We thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has given us our talent and this award."

Such are two of the many God-reference mimics by current pop groups on this year's MTV Awards show. Before the evenings show was over the singers had performed their hit songs and displayed their musical talents before the in-house crowd and television audience of millions.

The words in their music speak clearly of an open season on teen sex and unrestrained physical passion and ability. The movements on stage are sexually suggestive and provocative to anyone with a heartbeat. The obvious super egos of the superstars are on high beam. They are incredibly cocky. The messages, both obvious and veiled, are a disclaimer to the indication of their standing with the Jesus they just thanked

The next day, Christian teenagers around the country seek out their Christian friends at school and say, "Hey, the so-and-sos are Christians! Did you see the MTV Awards last night?"

They're Christians! They're Christians? Maybe. Maybe not.
In a crazy world of cultural play on words, how can you tell the true believers from those who are just saying the current cool thing? Certain forms of God-talk are definitely "in," and many have learned how to punch the right buttons as they drop hints of alleged faith. In the youth culture of today, such a paradox happens with great regularity. Actors, sports figures, entertainers, musicians and other teen idols often speak openly the name of God; but nothing else about their public lives bears much witness of the lordship of Christ.

Early in his book, "People of the Lie," author Scott Peck suggests the most obvious forms of evil often come not in the form of something "obviously bad", but rather in the cloak of something "apparently good".

The Scriptures say this of what I speak:

2 Tim 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Did you hear that? –They have a "form of Godliness", But their lives deny the power of such Godliness. The apostle Paul is "clearly" speaking of the times of today's youth culture.

Popular music has "always" been appealing to the flesh in the Christian arena. Elvis pushed his music not only with his talent, but also with his pelvis. The Beatles came along with their long hair length, and a news conference statement that they were more popular than Jesus. Janis Joplin and Jimmy Hendricks helped to usher in a new fashion of rock

Then Pop music began to get squeaky clean with the promotion of the Jackson Five, the Osmonds, the Partridge Family, and the Carpenters. For awhile there, the music just rocked along with performers rising and falling and some surviving to become stars.

THEN--as the approach of the new millennium began to dawn, the Pop Music began to permeate, or penetrate the Christian scene. It began as contemporary, Christian music. That is to say it was co-existing with popular music. Christian music was cooperative, in agreement, harmonious with Pop music. And Pop music has "always" appealed to the flesh.

THEN--before long came Christian Rock. Not only Christian Rock, but also Christian Hard Rock and Rap.

NOW-it is "Music" that is replacing "preaching". Music is to be used to draw people to Christ they say. Music will replace the Bible. Music will replace preaching the gospel of Christ. The "stage' will replace the "pulpit". Adoration will come from the "fuzzy feel good" feeling of the flesh rather that from a repentant heart standing in awe of the Lord. The professing Christians' examination of themselves will be made in "psyche and arrogance" rather that in "fear and trembling". The examination will be based on how much "ecstasy they feel", rather that the "truths of Holy Scripture".

Music was created for to lighten a burden. It was created to cheer a heavy heart. It was created to show honor to the God of the Bible. Music was to be a small part in the overall scope of Christianity. There was to be preaching the gospel of Christ for salvation.. There was to be teaching, i.e. the schooling of disciples, and baptizing, as obedience to one of the ordinances of Christ.

BAPTISM--A visible "symbolic" act of the "actual" invisible baptism of the Holy Spirit, where a believer has died to sin and is resurrected IN CHRIST. Baptism is the "symbolic action" of the "actual action" of being "born again" and becoming a "new creature" IN CHRIST.

BUT-for most folks, especially the youth culture, music has mutated into the actuality of preaching and teaching God's Word. Music is replacing the Bible. The Bible of Music is based on "how a person feels" and not on "what God says".

Forget about "ONLY" Bible perversions. Satan cannot win that game. MUSIC is the BIBLE of SATAN. Bible versions will not be the ultimate perversion of God's Word. Satan is perverting God's Word through MUSIC.

MUSIC and Animation. MUSIC and Pantomime. MUSICAL Dramas. Folks, this is MUSIC to Satan's ears and a "death knell" to those that embrace it.

And who is the vanguard, or forerunners of this deception? Adult Crusaders bless this delusion which leads to a false sense of security and is able to deceive the very elect if that were possible. Even so, this Master of disillusionment does in fact, deceive the very elect FOR A TIME.

Asking people to turn out every night for Revival is out of the question. Folks are just too busy, say the "great evangelicals". We must appeal to the flesh (worldly desires) and they will come. We must remove the offence of the cross (1 Cor 1:23; Gal 5:11) and they will come. We must stop this "foolishness of preaching" (1 Cor 1:21) and speak to their intellect. "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Cor 2:14)

Not only crusades, or festivals, as Franklin Graham calls them to avoid the "religious" aspect that the world associates with "crusade", but churches too, are into "music" and "programs". In an effort to lure these busy folks into services, churches have offered everything from free pizza and Six Flags for the youth, to weight loss programs and day care centers for the adults. The latest movement in an attempt to draw in those outside the church doors is known as the Contemporary Worship Service. Out go the piano and organ and in come drums, guitars, keyboards and such. Gone is the choir. The seats they sat in have been carried out, leaving a stage area for the Worship Team and drama companies to occupy.

The ministers' say churches have got to find ways to minister to the people outside the church. The contemporary service brings in people who would not otherwise come for a traditional service.

You see folks, God says "GO YE therefore…" the religious righteous say, "give them what they want and THEY WILL COME". They have built a better mousetrap and the world is beating a path to their church door. CHEESE is OUT folks. MUSICAL mousetraps are IN.

The "counterfeit believer" will lead a person to "Church", but does not know how to lead that person to "Jesus Christ" as their "Saviour and Lord". (Luke 6:39)

This is Not Love...
By M. H. Reynolds, Jr.,

We hear much talk today about love. Surely we all need more of this important and wonderful quality. But what is love? How is it manifested?

True love originated with God. God is love-and He manifested His love to us through the Lord Jesus Christ who "loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood." God's love is pure, powerful and eternal. But, there are many satanic and human counterfeits of God's love. Only a careful study of he Scriptures will give us the necessary discernment to tell the difference.

Through the years, most Fundamentalists have exercised proper spiritual discernment in identifying and repudiating the twisted, perverted concepts of love promoted by popular religious arid secular groups. When the ecumenical movement used love to justify collaboration and cooperation with false teachers and religions, Fundamentalists correctly said, "This is not love-this is disobedience!"

When Evangelicals used love to justify their remaining in denominations led by apostates, Fundamentalists correctly said, "This is not love-this is disobedience."

When the hippie movement, the Jesus People movement and, more recently, the Charismatic movement used love to justify unscriptural positions and actions,

Fundamentalists correctly said, "This is not love-this is disobedience."

But now some Fundamentalists are embracing a false view of love, claiming that love is always positive and never negative. In the name of love, the Christian soldier is asked to put down his sword; the watchman is instructed to be silent; the shepherd is told he must not warn about the wolves in the flock who draw away disciples after themselves. In the name of love, the Scriptural ministry of reproof and rebuke is placed off limits." Therefore, true fundamentalists must once again say, "This is not love-this is disobedience."

Those who truly love the Lord and manifest His love to others are specifically instructed to separate from false teachers and disobedient brethren. They are also instructed to exercise the Scriptural ministry of reproof and rebuke. Man may call this "negativism," but God calls it obedience! Fundamentalists should not forget that it is because of God's love that we have been commissioned as soldiers, watchmen and shepherds.

God is concerned about the welfare of His own. Scriptural rebuke is not opposed to love-it is a manifestation of love. Whenever love is re-defined to preclude the ministry of reproof and rebuke, the devil rejoices, and the enemy is given a protected haven inside the camp. As fundamentalists, we must not allow this to happen.

Indigenous Worship Music is Resulting in Church Growth in Panama's Jungle.

Workers from Wycliffe Bible Translators helped members of the Wounaan tribe create 18 new worship songs from traditional drinking music. The team produced songbooks and tapes containing the music, the Global Worship Report said. The songs became popular among tribe members and have been used to attract people to church services. Attendance at a Wounaan church has quadrupled to 100 in several weeks. (Religion Today 4/13/99)

[Editor] THIS SOUND ABOUT RIGHT

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without music? (read Romans 10:14 for the proper rendering)

For I am not ashamed of religious music: for it is the power of a god unto deliverance to every one that heareth; to the religious first, and also to the unchurched. (Read Romans 1:16 for the proper rendering)

Congo (former Zaire): Continuing Revival
"During a short cruise on a 400-berth ship, 500 people, including passengers just boarding, decided to follow Jesus, simply because a local man on board revealed that he was a Christian."

[Editor] Go ye therefore and identify yourself as a Christian--and they will come. Give them religious music--and they will come. Invite them to church and beg them to walk the "salvation walk". (walking the isle--the altar call) and they will come.

As many as desire to make a fair show in the world, they pressure you to make a "commitment" (promise, pledge, covenant) to Christ; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. (Read Gal 6:12 for the proper rendering)

Are we capable of honoring religious commitments.

Josh 1:16 And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.

How well was THIS commitment kept?

Famous Jesus?
It is said that God is moving in powerful ways in Lubbock, Texas. Many Christians there consider the city to be their joint mission field, and cooperate extensively. (This is Ecumenicism at it's very best).

The object of these folks, (sounds more reasonable that Christian) is "to make Jesus famous in Lubbock and to make it hard to go to hell from their city," said Alice Patterson of Pray Texas, a statewide evangelistic organization.

Pastors are increasingly working together to reach the city rather than just to build their own congregations. A thousand people from 23 congregations and various denominations commissioned 1,060 homes as Lighthouses of Prayer.

Despite theological differences, pastors have become close friends by attending Pastors Prayer Summits, or intense interdenominational retreats, starting in 1995. They signed a covenant agreeing to pray together once a month, to speak well of one another, and to be available to one another in times of crisis.

Some pastors consider their individual congregations as part of one big interdenominational church in the city, Patterson said. They speak in terms of the "church in Lubbock," and individual congregations are called "branch offices." During a Pastor's Prayer Summit in 1998, they ordained each other as "co-pastors" to the city.

Listen to this folks. Pray Lubbock organizers say. "No one church in our city has the "full counsel" or full picture of Almighty God"

THAT'S what's wrong with the churches today folks. It is HARD to find a church that preaches and teaches the "whole counsel of God".

Read what the apostle Paul did. "For I have not shunned to declare unto you "all" (the full) the counsel of God".(Acts 20:27)

The core group of leaders includes pastors from Baptist, Interdenominational, Church on the Rock, Church of Christ, and United Methodist congregations, and from Pray Lubbock.

Pray Lubbock is helping compile statistics that will help with the overall plan to evangelize the city. The figures will show how many in the city are in church on a given Sunday, what portion of the growth comes by conversion of people to Christianity,(Religiosity is more like it) and what resources are available to the churches, including video materials for evangelism training and discipleship. Pray Lubbock coordinates training for Lighthouse members and for people who pray for the city, helps facilitate events such as the National Day of Prayer, March for Jesus, and citywide events. Lubbock is "a beautiful example of the body of Christ intentionally joining together to reach a city," Patterson said.

[Editor] A few more comments to the few I sneaked in the article. The Church of Christ preaches a works salvation. It teaches that salvation comes by "water baptism", but water can't get my clothes clean, much less wash away the stain of sin from my soul. There is POWER in the BLOOD, not water. The apostate UMC is copy catting the Roman Catholic Church in it's services and feast days and holidays. It's ongoing dialog with her will soon lead to this denomination going "back home to Rome".

I "Pray Lubbock" does not fall for this satanic deception of making Jesus famous. I KNOW this movement is wrong. I KNOW the Jesus I belong to will never be famous. And I KNOW I will never be famous for talking this way. You wanna know how I KNOW? Well-since you ask:

Jesus said that "all men" will hate me because of Him. ( Matt 10:22) Not only all men, but "all nations" will hate me. (Matt 24:9) These men and nations, yeah, even the "world", hates me because THEY HATE JESUS. (John 15:18)

Now they don't have a reason to hate Jesus and me, but they do. (John 15:25) I guess they just hate aliens. (John 17:14)

Tell me-how can people that hate Jesus make Him famous. This is not MY JESUS they speak of. See-I KNOW they hate the REAL Jesus of the Bible because he teaches differently than they do.

He said, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things 'whatsoever I have commanded you': and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen". (Matt 28:19-20)

Jesus never commanded his disciples to "make Him famous". This is not part of the "all things" He commanded.

CNV NOTES

The Community Bible Chapel is still meeting in fellowship, prayer and worship here in my home. The Lord hasn't seen fit to add any new folks yet, but I stay busy preparing sermons and Bible studies.

I will be updating my web page in many areas real soon. That is as soon as I can find the time. I am behind on answering e-mail but I will catch up soon, Lord willing.

I am going door to door witnessing on my three wheeled scooter twice weekly from about 9 to 10:30 am while it's still rather cool. My son Andrew Jr. and I have went together some evenings in addition to my morning activities. He said He and His wife Betty will go once weekly in the evenings and my wife Nita and I will go one evening a week in addition to the morning activities. At that rate we will have covered Hico in a couple of months. Then on to outlying communities

I am planning on having a booth at the Hico Old Settlers Reunion this year, held in the City Park. We will be giving away purified water in cups with purified ice, and free lemonade made with purified water. We will have two dispensers with five gallon jugs. One with water the other with lemonade. We will keep six jugs on hand daily, and ice chests will hold the ice along with more in my deep freeze here at home. Chick illustrated gospel tracts, (four different kinds) along with other salvation pamphlets in English and Spanish and a Community Bible church brochure will be handed out to folks as they come to quench their thirst.

The Lord may use this effort to pull some people out of hell and folks will know a witnessing church is in town.

Well folks, that's what is going on when you don't hear from me. Please pray for us here at the Chapel.

Messengers of Christ Ministries may have a radio program soon, and the web page is doing great. PRAISE GOD.

To the printed version subscribers I say: I'll see you next month if Jesus tarries.

We Must Earnestly Contend For The Faith.-Jude 1:3
