STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD
By Andy Neckar

Our God, WHO CANNOT LIE made some promises to we who believe on the Name of His Son, Jesus the Christ.

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began

God has never failed ONE WORD of His promises.

IKing 8:56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

A PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE
I Jn 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

2 Pet 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

A PROMISE FROM THE WRATH OF GOD
1Thes 5:9-11 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

1Thes 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

He that believeth NOT THE SON are the children of wrath.

Those that “believe not” are the children of disobedience.  Let no one tell you that they are children of God in disobedience.

Col 3:5-10 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The above is speaking of the children of disobedience, which THEY WERE “in the past”. (before salvation) But they have PUT OFF these things

There are those that teach  (Roman Catholic Church) purgatory. An indefinite period of time in hell like fire and suffering.  When Christ said “it is finished” he didn’t mean “to be continued” after death.  HE paid ALL of the penalty for the believers’ sins; past, present & future.

There is a web site that teaches that disobedient believers must spend the 1000 year reign of Christ IN HELL.

http://www.kingdombaptist.org/

This is another form of RC purgatory. If we believe that we believers  must pay SOME penalty for our sins, whether that be in “purgatory”, “hell”, or “outer darkness” we are still lost in our sins and heading straight for hell.

Spending 1000 years in outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth IS THE WRATH OF GOD and so is HELL and PURGATORY

Joey Faust, in his “Kingdom Alert Newsletter” teaches a thousand years in hell for disobedience believers.  I know this man.  Before salvation my son, Andrew Jr (read about Andrew in my testimony) was a longhaired punk rock guitar player and Joey Faust was his teacher.  They shared an apartment together for a while in Arlington, TX. Back in 1990-91.

Matt 8:11-12 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

“cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (“wrath of God”-surely, not “love of God”)

In spite of Israel's wealth of revelation, it was a Gentile whose faith in Christ's authority glowed most brightly. Thus Jesus announces that his Messianic kingdom shall be enjoyed by many who are not Jews. Shall sit down with Abraham. The figure of a banquet is often used of the Kingdom (<Isa 25:6; Lk 14:15-24>). The sons (or [children]) of the kingdom. Jews, who were the recipients of the prophecies and thus the original heirs, are here told that without true faith mere race is not sufficient qualification for Christ's kingdom. “Outer darkness”

Matthew Henry Commentary.  [Editor-“I Agree”]
“First, A strange sentence passed; The children of the kingdom shall be cast out; the Jews that persist in unbelief, though they were by birth children of the kingdom, yet shall be cut off from being members of the visible church: the kingdom of God, of which they boasted that they were the children, shall be taken from them, and they shall become not a people, not obtaining mercy, <Rom. 11:20; 9:31>. In the great day it will not avail men to have been children of the kingdom, either as Jews or as Christians; for men will then be judged, not by what they were called, but by what they were. If children indeed, then heirs; but many are children in profession, in the family, but not of it, that will come short of the inheritance. Being born of professing parents denominates us children of the kingdom; but if we rest in that, and have nothing else to show for heaven but that, we shall be cast out.”

“Second. A strange punishment for the workers of iniquity described; They shall be cast into outer darkness, the darkness of those that are without, of the Gentiles that were out of the church; into that the Jews were cast, and into worse; they were blinded, and hardened, and filled with terrors, as the apostle shows, <Rom. 11:8-10>. A people so unchurched and given up to spiritual judgments, are in utter darkness already: but it looks further, to the state of damned sinners in hell, to which the other is a dismal preface. They shall be cast out from God, and all true comfort, and cast into darkness. In hell there is fire, but no light; it is utter darkness; darkness in extremity; the highest degree of darkness, without any remainder, or mixture, or hope, of light; not the least gleam or glimpse of it; it is darkness that results from their being shut out of heaven, the land of light; they who are without, are in the regions of darkness; yet that is not the worst of it, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

“In hell there will be great grief, floods of tears shed to no purpose; anguish of spirit preying eternally upon the vitals, in the sense of the wrath of God, is the torment of the damned.”

“Great indignation: damned sinners will gnash their teeth for spite and vexation, full of the fury of the Lord; seeing with envy the happiness of others, and reflecting with horror upon the former possibility of their own being happy, which is now past.

Matt 22:12-14 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.”

“The man without the wedding garment depicts the person who claims to be ready for Christ's kingdom, but is not. Other parables have depicted him as a tare, and an unusable fish. Outer darkness. The darkness and the weeping and gnashing of teeth are clearly indicative of the torments of Hell.  Many are called, but few are chosen. There is a general call of God to sinners which invites them to the joys of salvation, but which may be resisted and rejected. Comparatively few are actually selected for this privilege. Scripture clearly indicates a divine election that brings sinners to God. Yet Scripture also indicates that man is responsible for his indifference." End of Matthew Henry Commentar

[Editor] All we need to know is that CHRISTIANS will not suffer the wrath of God.  Thai’s ALL we need to know.  We can STAND ON THE PROMISES OF GOD.

HIRELINGS HIRE AUDIENCES
Church growth methodology has reached its logical end
, giving money to people who will visit church services. New Life Tabernacle, a United Pentecostal Church in Oklahoma, handed out a total of $1,500 to visitors at its recent Easter services. One visitor did try to get his $10 three times, but the pastor at New Life considered the day a success: “I had several people tell me they would be back,” he said. (worldmagblog.com, 4/10/04, 4/12/04)

[Editor] Wonder how many CNV subscribers could I recruit at $10.00 a head.  This is not an offer now. Just wondering.

But then, I guess I have a few.  Send me this-give me that. All FREE of course. After around three requests that turn into “demands”, they get mad/angry and UNSUBSCRIBE.

This job is not all fun & games you know.

RELIC MANIA or THE CULT OF RELIGIOUS RELICS
Frederick of Saxony, the local prince for the area of Germany in which Martin Luther lived, was famous for his collection of religious relics—a few hairs from the Blessed Virgin, almost 20,000 various holy bones, and thirteen pieces from the infant Jesus’ crib. Relics still exist today, and 12,000 people in St. Louis recently filed past a stone from the Last Supper, a piece of the Holy Sepulcher, and a shard of wood from the cross. The Apostolate for Holy Relics is sponsoring a tour of these items, and each relic has a document of authenticity from the Vatican. Says the vice president of the Apostolate, “[Visitors] are literally in the presence of something very, very holy.” (Roland Bainton’s Here I Stand: A Life of Martin Luther; Fox News, 4/9/04)

[Editor] HOLY COW! Why settle for JUNK when we “believers” have the REAL THING.

RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE/SECULAR TOLERANCE
Alan Wolfe, a well-known sociologist ho focuses on religion, says of Christianity in America, “Conflict over doctrine is fast becoming a phenomenon of church history. Evangelicals have exchanged orthodoxy for popularity.” He also comments about the low level of doctrinal and biblical knowledge among America’s Christians: “My secular friends think the United States is filled with fundamentalist Christians who believe that the Bible contains the literal word of God and therefore know the Bible inside out. But what most people know from the Bible is ‘Judge not lest you be judged.’ People come away with that lesson and this one: ‘Do not throw the first stone.’ Especially Christians.” (Books & Culture, Mar-Apr 2004)

[Editor] God has THIS to say about THAT.
Prov 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Judg 17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Judg 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

THE ABOMINABLE  SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION
(Associated Baptist Press- May 14, 2004) By Greg Warner

DALLAS (ABP) -- The Southern Baptist Annuity Board faces another round of criticism for owning $14 million worth of stock in Carnival Cruise Lines, which is hosting "the First Annual Official Gay Days Cruise" beginning May 30.

The four-night Bahamas cruise, aboard Carnival's ship Fantasy, is sponsored by Gay Days Inc. and coincides with Orlando's Gay Days celebration June 1-7, which organizers say will attract 135,000 people to the city.

The Southern Baptist Convention and its leaders have been outspoken opponents of gay rights. Since 1997, the SBC has been boycotting the Walt Disney Co. largely because of its gay-friendly policies and events like Gay Days at Disney World.

[Editor]-Boycotting is not biblical, but then boycotting of the SBC of one of the devil’s strongholds, while “investing” in another shows just how hypocritical the SBC really is.

“Boycotting” is not biblical, and neither is “investing” in the corporations of the “world”.  The SBC is an abomination before the Lord.]

But Annuity Board officials said May 13 that Carnival's gambling business and association with the new gay cruise are not enough to prompt the retirement agency to divest itself of the cruise line's stock.

The Annuity Board owns 329,700 shares of Carnival in its Value Index Fund and 26,400 shares in its Equity Index Fund as of December 31 -- together valued at $14.5 million as of May 13.

Some Southern Baptists object to the board's holdings in companies such as Carnival because of their involvement in gambling and other questionable activities. Carnival advertises the world's largest on-board gambling casino.

The Annuity Board said its screening policy for stocks prohibits investment in "any company that is publicly recognized, as determined by the Annuity Board, as being in the liquor, tobacco, gambling, pornography, or abortion industries, or any company whose products, services or activities are publicly recognized as being incompatible with the moral and ethical posture of the Annuity Board."

[Editor]- Notice the “standards” of the SBC Annuity Board? “INCOMPATABLE WITH THE MORAL AND ETHICAL POSTURE OF THE ANNUITY BOARD” Where are GOD’S STANDARDS (Bible)?]

The Gay Days Cruise is not sponsored by Carnival, which typically does not organize such outings but only makes space available to travel agents and groups.

Promotional material from Orlando-based Gay Days Inc. says the Gay Days cruise "is not an all-gay cruise" but that special dinners, events and excursions are planned for gays. "We hope within a few years this event will grow into a buy out," the ad notes.

Carnival spokesperson Vance Gulliksen told Associated Baptist Press the company "caters to a very broad demographic and does not discriminate based on race, age, sex, marital status, religion, national origin, physical or mental ability or sexual orientation."

"This particular group, like most groups sailing on Carnival, is being sold and marketed through an independent travel agent," Gulliksen said of the gay cruise.

A statement from the Annuity Board said the relationship between Carnival and Gay Days Inc. "can be likened to any objectionable sponsor (alcohol, tobacco, gaming, etc.) booking convention space at a hotel, convention center, etc."

"If the Southern Baptist Convention should choose to boycott Carnival as it did Disney, we would take appropriate action as we did with Disney," the Annuity Board statement added. "We are in sympathy with the moral concerns of this issue and are continuing to research and evaluate this particular holding."

[Editor]- WHY must God’s Word be “researched” and “evaluated”? (judge by giving human opinion).]

Gay Days started 1991 with a special event at Disney World and now include events at other theme parks and venues in Orlando and other cities during the year. "We thank God that in this great country of ours we have the freedom to go on gay cruises, attractions or wherever we want without the threat of a group like the Taliban outlawing every group except their own," said Chris Alexander-Manley, vice president for sales and marketing for Gay Days Inc.

"I'm also happy that businesses such as Carnival look at gay group travel such as ours as business that will help them and our economy," he added. "My husband, Tommy, and I both were raised Southern Baptist, and I'm sure they also aren't happy that Carnival allows drinking, dancing, and gambling on their ships."

In March, Annuity Board President O.S. Hawkins acknowledged criticism of the agency's Carnival holdings but said avoiding all questionable stocks is virtually impossible. Hawkins noted Carnival receives only 3 percent of its revenue from gambling.

The May statement from the Annuity Board noted more than 300 companies in "prohibited industries" are on a list of restricted investments. "The Annuity Board has a strong moral policy," the statement added. "However, we could go through every stock in the Fortune 500 and probably find some reason why we shouldn't invest in any of them."

[Editor]- We followers of Christ easily find some reason why they shouldn't invest in any of them.  If there be any of God’s children in the SBC they ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD and are spending things rendered to GOD in things of this world for FILTHY LUCRE. (2 Peter 5:2)]

But Don Allmon of Dyer, Tenn., a frequent critic of Annuity Board investments, said enough is known about Carnival -- even before the gay cruise came to light -- to warrant selling the stock.

Allmon, a deacon in First Baptist Church of Dyer, said most Southern Baptists would oppose investing in Carnival if they knew about the company. "I just question our leaders investing in that kind of stock when they know it," he told ABP.

He disagreed with the Annuity Board's conclusion that Carnival is not perceived to be in the gambling business. "If they advertise it, how could it not be publicly perceived?" he asked.

[Editor]- Gambling is always brought up as a reason to “evaluate”.  What about sodomy?]

Allmon said stricter compliance is not that hard. He said his own informal review of the Annuity Board's 1,200-plus holdings shows only 29 companies that are known to be involved in gambling.

"After they discover that some of these investments exist, after a reasonable time, why not sell them?" he asked. "I'm not down on Mr. Hawkins because I think he does a good job, but I think they missed on a couple of these."

Richard Land, executive director of the SBC Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission and a frequent critic of Gay Days celebrations, did not respond to a request to be interviewed on the topic.
