ANOTHER JESUS
Pop culture is focusing on religion, with Jesus at its center, according to a recent report in the Toronto Globe and Mail. Jesus is the icon of choice on T-shirts and tote bags sold in trendy shops, and He pops up in the lyrics of some of rap music's biggest acts. A controversial pocketbook version of the King James Bible, with introductions to each book written by the likes of rock star Nick Cave, tops the British bestseller list. Jesus now has a board game, and a National Film Board documentary features Him in "God: A Biography."

The popular phenomenon has little to do with mainstream religion, however. Church attendance remains flat. "People aren't really going back to church," says Professor Peter Emberley, who teaches at Carleton University in Ottawa. "They're circling on the edges" (Greenville [S.C.] News, 1/9/99).

[Editor] Read the above again and then read what Jesus says:

John 15:18-19 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

What if the "world" says it loves Adolf Hitler and "centers" on him? And if the world says they feel this way about him because of his great love for the Jews, and the great honor he bestowed upon they as "God’s chosen people, then those who "study history" would surely know that the "world" speaks of "another Hitler". They would know this the same as I know that "Pop Culture" is centering on "another Jesus" because I study the "scripture".

This "great revival" or so-called "spiritual awakening" the world is undergoing is causing the "world" to say, "we love Jesus". Christendom is beginning to have some "influence" in the affairs of the world. But, hey—the world don’t love whom they hate. And the "hated ones" that follow the "Hated One" will NOT have ANY affect.

"Christendom" is beginning to be the "IN" thing, because "Christianity" has been "OUT" for some time now.

THE COUNTERFEIT MIND of CHRIST
Seventy-six American bishops signed a letter to homosexuals apologizing for a recent resolution at the worldwide Anglican conference condemning homosexuality as "incompatible with Scripture." Frank Griswold, presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America, supports homosexual marriages and ordination. He has said in defending his position against the clear words of Scripture: "All we can say is the mind of Christ operative in the Church today has led the Church to contradict the words of Scripture" (Greenville [S.C.] News, 2/6/99).

[Editor] You see how great a deceiver is the enemy? He (Satan) has taken on "man’s churches" and won. He has deluded the "form" of Christianity by counterfeiting "Jesus" and the "mind of Christ".

The END TIMES-they are HERE folks. Hold on to your hats, or rather "stand firm in your faith". Ministers of unrighteousness are leading false Christians into worshipping a false Christ, and led by "another spirit" they are seeking to attain a false salvation.

Let us examine ourselves (2 Cor 13:5) as to whether we be in the faith ONCE delivered to the "saints" (Jude 1:3) by the ministers of God, or whether we be in the faith "NOW" delivered to the "deceived" by the ministers of unrighteousness.

SPIRITUAL RENEWAL or FALLING AWAY?
"Spiritual renewal" is shaking Southern Baptist tradition, according to a lengthy report in Charisma (3/99). "They may not use charismatic terms or practice speaking in tongues," the report says, "but those identified with this burgeoning renewal movement could soon revolutionize the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)."

Ron Phillips, pastor of Central Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is "at the epicenter of this earthquake." He says members of his congregation are trembling and falling under the power of the Holy Spirit during services. More than 500 SBC pastors were expected to attend Central Baptist's Fresh Oil & New Wine conference, which convened March 7.

Phillips has been blunt about his new emphasis. "I was a mean-spirited, narrow-minded, legalistic fundamentalist--and now I know the joy of the Holy Spirit," the former head of the Tennessee Baptist Convention says. Last November he invited well-known charismatic revivalist Rod Parsley into his pulpit, and the church's Christmas drama incorporated a video clip from the Brownsville revival in Pensacola, Florida. He has also called for women to be empowered for ministry (Charisma, 3/99).

[Editor] A "mean-spirited, narrow-minded, legalistic fundamentalist," or another definition for "BIBLE BELIEVER". Now whether we speak the truth in love is irrelevant. It is "because" we speak the "Truth" that we are called mean-spirited, narrow-minded, and legalistic.

The churches are FALLING AWAY from the TRUTH. The Conventions, Associations, Affiliated and Independents are going fast. The assemblage is ruptured and the breach is rapidly expanding.

Will the Great Physician heal this chasm? Will He "fill the fissure" with His Spirit? Will He restore the structure? I think not. The STRUCTURE "He built" (Matt 16:18) still stands on a FIRM FOUNDATION. (1 Cor 3:11) The "remnant structure" (CHURCH) (Rom 11:5) is still alive and well. The BODY (Rom 12:5) is sufficient (2 Cor 3:5) and well nourished because it feeds on the WORDS (1 Timothy 4:6) of the HEAD. (Col 1:18)

Last Vestiges of Christianity in UMC Discarded
Nine Protestant denominations took a step toward official unity. Representatives of the churches participating in the Consultation on Church Union signed a document pledging to declare that they will unite in Christ in 2002. It is not a merger, but an agreement of affiliation. It will not create a new church, but allow the denominations to celebrate Holy Communion together, share one baptism, and recognize each other as "authentic expressions of the one church of Jesus Christ," the Associated Press said.

Participating churches are the Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the International Council of Community Churches, the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, and the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. More negotiations are planned to settle disagreements between Presbyterian and Episcopalian methods of church leadership. Episcopalians are stressing the need for the office of bishop. [Editor] Even the most conservative must be able to discern the rapid movement towards complete apostasy from the faith once delivered to the saints. (Jude 1:3) I have many subscribers who are in the UMC and I EARNESTLY URGE them to "get out" of that Christ-less denomination. I can only reasonably consider those still in that apostate denomination who profess to be Christian in this manner. Christ said the anti-christ would not deceive the elect, and ONLY the elect are His.

Actors Agree to act like Mormons
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Screen Actors Guild has agreed to allow the audiovisual arm of the Mormon church to give hiring priority to Mormon actors and those outside the church who pledge to behave like Mormons.

The two-year deal with Deseret Media Productions is awaiting signatures of SAG and officials of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, church spokesman Dale Bills said.

Under the agreement, non-Mormons must be willing "to commit in writing to live their lives in accordance with church standards during the production." Those standards are not spelled out, but Bills said they would be similar to the honor code signed by all students at church-owned Brigham Young University. Students promise to abstain from coffee, tea, alcohol, tobacco, illicit drugs, sex outside marriage, profanity, shorts above the knee, beards and earrings on men.

"The emphasis is on-set behavior -- that's what's going to be visible, therefore that's what's going to be monitored," Bills said. "We're not going to challenge people's privacy." (The Detroit News 1/25/99)

[Editor] Isn’t it a shame how acting like a Christian must be replaced with acting like a Mormon? But can I blame Hollywood? NO, I cannot. Professing Christianity is to blame. The divorce rate among the secular world and Christians is the same. Embezzlement, fraud, false teachings, sexual immorality, even among pastors and the flock, and you name it, is just as rampant among the present numbers in the guise of Christianity as it is in any segment of society.

Speaking of TRUE CHRISTIANS bearing the shame of the name, I just have to touch on this subject. Not only do we have wolves in shepherds clothing behind many pulpits, these are "horny wolves" desiring female sheep. Of course churches with sodomite pastors, male or female, do not have to worry about this "taboo subject".

Yes, my heart is filled with the "bitterness of righteous anger" on these subjects. I want the world to know that I have been called out from among them. (Rev 18:4) I am separated.(2 Cor 14:14-18) I bear no reproach because of my fellowship. I don’t have to be "struck by lightening" to be awakened. When I’m told to move, I move. What part of "OBEY" don’t you understand?

Lewd Gestures now Sacred.
After months of negotiating with the Vatican, Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo is allowing hula and other Native Hawaiian "sacred gestures" to be performed during Roman Catholic services. Now, with the Vatican's approval, the Honolulu bishop has issued new guidelines for allowing sacred gestures during Mass. They took effect Jan.

Hula uses the hands, body and feet to tell a story. Ancient Hawaiians danced for their kings in both religious and secular settings.

The dance now has been performed during all types of church services, including First Communion, weddings and funerals, by both men and women. It even was performed at DiLorenzo's installation as bishop in 1994.

The dance can be accompanied by religious chanting and the playing of native instruments such as the ipu, a drum made from a gourd, and the nose flute.

The cultural practices were banned by New England missionaries in the 1820s. Hula was banned from public and private performances because it was considered "enchanting,"

The Advertiser on Dec. 29 praised the ruling, saying "the church is promoting openness and inclusiveness in the best tradition of the Islands. Accommodation rather than fiat has thankfully carried the day." (excerpts from The Detroit News 1/25/99)

[Editor] Hawaiian culture was banned because it was considered enchanting and lewd pagan practices. Now this, I am not surprised about. The Roman Catholic Church has "always" accommodated pagan practices in her religion. They just change the name. But hell, which is where they’re going, is still a place of eternal burning torment by whatever name you call it.

TOWN TO NICE.
I got this over some news services I subscribe to. It seems a little town in Maryland is too nice for a telemarketing company. Unitel Corp., which sells things over the phone, It is moving about 100 jobs from Frostburg to Florida hoping to find more aggressive salespeople. "The culture and the climate in western Maryland is one of helping your neighbor and being sensitive and those sorts of things," The vice president of Unitel, Ken Carmichael said. But the friendly nature of the townsfolk is getting in the way. "We would rather be nice than aggressive," said Mayor John Bambacus. "Frostburg is not the Bronx. We pride ourselves on being a very neighborly community." (InfoBeat News 3/15/99)

Churches Ignorant of Sinners Needs?
Churches and Christian organizations are reaching prostitutes in England. Representatives of 13 ministries met in Hertfordshire to share strategies and success stories in their efforts to help women in the sex-for-sale industry, Youth With a Mission said. About 40 people gathered for the two-day conference sponsored by YWAM's Ruth Robb. Ministry teams from 11 churches joined workers from drop-in centers, a safe house, and a mobile crisis unit.

..."We wanted to meet to learn from and encourage each other," Robb said. Most churches don't have a ministry to prostitutes because they are ignorant of their needs, she said. A person working with prostitutes must have a deep understanding of God's grace because prostitutes need to know that God loves them despite their sin, she said.

[Editor] Prostitutes, like ALL sinners are in need of the GOSPEL OF CHRIST. If MOST churches are ignorant of sinners’ needs, these churches are NOT CHRISTIAN churches. There is only ONE strategy (tactic- approach) to CHANGE a sinner, prostitute or whatever, and that is by PREACHUING THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST.

We are to learn FROM GOD on how to change sinners, not from EACH OTHER. These people place their faith in MAN rather than CHRIST.

Canada: Post-modern church planting
82% of Canadians are unchurched', i.e., not actively involved in Christian churches, according to the latest research published by Church Planting Canada', a national missionary initiative based on the DAWN strategy. Murray Moerman, editor of Outreach Canada' magazine, says that those with no religious preference' form the fastest-growing religious group in the country.

Pentecostals and Baptists plant church together in Bornholm, Denmark.
Church planting is an important topic in Denmark. In the last 11 years, some 150 new churches were planted, of which 90 survived, according to DAWN research. "Strategic church planting is mentioned almost every week in the Christian media," says Svend Madsen, one of the leaders of the Danish DAWN movement. "The basic understanding that church planting is the most effective method of evangelization has been accepted even by the more traditional Lutheran churches," he said at a DAWN conference near Interlaken on 9 February. "Some Lutheran pastors have already started new fellowships within the existing structures. In 1998, 7 new churches were started, with several more just starting." [Editor] Church planting has REPLACED the "gospel of Christ" as the "most effective method of evangelization". What deception. (Matt 24:24) Look how many "church members" are gonna burn in hell. That’s what’s gonna happen to them, because the gospel of Christ draws people to Christ, but the "new gospel" (church planting) draws people to "religion", in which there is NO SALVATION.

"I want to bring people to the gospel, not to wine," says the Christian vintner Manfred Weber from Alzey. "On principle, I don't work on Sundays, unlike many of my colleagues." "One year, we had a particularly strong frost. The other vintners had already harvested their grapes, but we were not yet finished because of not working on Sundays. As a result of the unexpected early frost, we harvested 1,500 liters of the very desirable ice wine, which brought us a profit of some 25,000 Deutschmarks (around $15,000). Fiery Christians
A conference titled "Prayer and Spiritual Warfare" took place in Rochester, New York, in September 1998. Following the conference, the organisers received a letter containing the following report: "I was one of the 1,800 attendees of the prayer conference in Rochester, in the area in which Charles Finney preached many years ago. Intercession leader Cindy Jacobs spoke one Thursday, saying that God's fire would fall here. A few seconds later, the conference centre's fire alarm started, which turned out to be a false alarm a few minutes later. That was shortly before the evening meal. Some conference attendees went to eat in a Thai restaurant near the conference centre. As they started to sing a worship song before the meal, the restaurant's fire alarm was also set off. [Editor] Yeah, I can understand that. When Jesus was baptized a fire alarm was set off in the sky. Matt 3:17.-God speaking to anyone that would listen.

The Gift of God Purchased with Money
The Brownsville Assembly of God, located in Pensacola, Florida, is famous for the "Pensacola Outpouring," but the Pensacola News Journal has revealed that the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry has featured a missionary who not only claims to have raised the dead, but who gave "how-to-do-it" lectures to students.

The school sells the four-video series "Faith to Raise the Dead" in which David Hogan, a missionary to Mexico, details how he got the power to bring the dead back to life through intense fasting and prayer. "You ain't ever met anybody in our generation that has touched as many dead men and let them get up as I have," Hoga says on one of the videos (Fundamentalist Digest, 11-12/98).

[Editor] I don’t put stock in Hogan’s power to "raise the dead", but I do believe that maybe some of the dear departed great men of God would "turn over in the grave" if they were to witness these "last days apostasy" we are entering into.

Were the apostles "taught" or "trained" to work miracles or were they "empowered" by the Holy Spirit. (of God) I do this to remind you that there are "other spirits" at work in the religious field.

Anyway—take a look at this.
Acts 8:19-23 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

No Statement of Faith
Bill McCartney, president of Promise Keepers, was asked about his organization's stand on creation. An assistant to the president sent this response: "You need to know that the ministry of PK takes no stand on issues like this. In fact, we specifically try to avoid such debates. Our efforts are designed to bring men together based on the historically 'essential' doctrines of orthodox Christianity as represented by our Statement of Faith--or to focus on things that unite the body of Christ, instead of those which tend to divide it.
"Since different churches and individual Christians hold varying views about creation, it is one of those things we believe falls under the category of 'secondary doctrines,' just as we do such things a spiritual gifts, eternal security, the rapture, etc." (Answers in Genesis, 12/98).

[Editor] Promise Keepers Statement of Faith is that they have no statement of faith. Anything goes for the sake of numbers. What doctrine of Christ is "primary" and which is "secondary"? Do we believe in evolution, theistic, or otherwise, or 24-hour day creation? "…And the evening and the morning were the first day." Gen 1:5

If the "creation week" was millions of years, say each day a million years, then the seventh day (sabbath) in which God rested is still going on. How then does the Word of God (Bible) speak of seven 24-hour days in both the Old and New Testament? I believe "evening and morning" indicate the length of the creation day.

If we are free to believe what we please and set aside what we please, then a salvation of works is justified. Come on now. Be reasonable. BELIEVE GOD.

The Three Persons Association
The American Psychiatric Association's board voted unanimously to reject therapy aimed at turning homosexuals into heterosexuals, saying it can cause depression, anxiety, and self-destructive behavior. "All evidence would indicate this is the way people are born," said Dr. Nada Stotland, head of the association's joint committee on public affairs. The American Psychological Association made a similar decision last year (Ann Arbor [Mich.] News, 12/13/98).

[Editor] Sodomy doesn’t CAUSE self-destructive behavior it IS self-destructive behavior. I do admit however, that Psychiatric and Psychological treatment has no power to TRANSFORM a life. The Holy Spirit in ASSOCIATION with the Father and the Son is the ONLY help available. The THREE PERSONS ASSOCIATION method of transformation/change is this.

Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

They can be saved. (Rom 1:16). They can be changed.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things (homosexual lifestyle) are passed away; behold, all things are become new". (2 Cor 5:17)

AGAIN…They CAN be changed
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such WERE some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Cor 6:9-11) [capitol letters are mine, words are God’s]

God did not create them this way. God calls sodomy sin.
1 Cor 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Did God create sin? Did God introduce sin into heaven and earth, or did Lucifer, that old Devil called Satan? Is it because of the First Adam we have this sin nature?

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

By one angel Lucifer) sin entered into heaven and through Lucifer (Satan) by Adam sin entered into the world.

1 Cor 15:45-47 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Adam was created (without a human father) sinless as Christ was born (without a human father) sinless. The first Adam failed (sinned) and the second and last Adam triumphed and paid the penalty for sin. This victory that Christ won is now imputed to those who repent and believe the gospel. (Mark 1:15)

Was Adam created with a sin nature?
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: …" Gen 1:26)

If homosexuals (sodomites) are created in the "alternate lifestyle" manner, so was Adam. If Adam was, then God has a sin nature, as he was created in God’s IMAGE and LIKENESS.

PREPOSTEROUS? YES! Definitely so. But then so is the "we were born that way" claim of the Homosexuals.

ONCE A CHRISTIAN, NOW A MUSLIM?
A Feb. 8, 1999 Ft. Worth Star Telegram religion article tells of a man, who, "several years ago was a Christian-born University of Washington student named Jason Burke". It tells of how he was once a Christian but is now a Muslim.

The article says that "about 10 percent of local Muslims are American converts", and that "the vast majority of converts are African American". Jason Burke was Anglo-American.

Burke says in the report, "This is a decision that changed my life. I wasn't a bad person before, but it's brought an inner peace I didn't have."

The Star Telegram article goes on to say, " 'For African Americans, Islam can be a salve of sorts after years of dealing with racism. A lot of us were literally resurrected from the dead,' says Benjamin Shabazz, an imam, or prayer leader, at the Islamic School of Seattle. 'People who've never had their humanity taken from them can't fully appreciate the repair that Islam brings for us'. Since Christianity usually depicts its savior, Jesus, as a white man, he says, Islam offers an alternative for African Americans who feel shut out." "Islam says we have to do away with all these images," Shabazz says. "That's why you don't go into a Muslim's house and see pictures of Mohammed all over the place."

[Editor] Few people are looking for salvation. Like Burke says of himself, "I wasn't a bad person before…". The words "Christian born-not a bad person-pictures of Jesus all over the house". Smells of Roman Catholicism to me.

Islam may be a salve of sorts to heal racism, but racial discrimination is not what sends a person to hell. Being "accepted as equals" is not what gets one into heaven. Religion "of any kind" will not get one into eternal life. SIN is what sends people to hell. The SIN problem must be reckoned with. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, dealt with this problem. Jesus Christ is the salve people need. Islam may deal with the earthly problem (racism) but Jesus Christ deals with the eternal problem. (sin)

Islam offers an alternative for African Americans who feel shut out? What alternative is there for forgiveness of sin?

The apostle Peter, speaking of Christ Jesus says, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved". (Acts 4:12)

What the world wants, and the churches are getting into here, is that they preach a religion that offers a better life NOW, "on this earth". "To hell with the hereafter", they say, "first things first".

These racist blacks--yes, they that need an alternative Jesus/God with a skin other than white, ARE RACISTS THEMSELVES. Well- I have news for them. Unless they repent and believe the gospel they are going to the SAME HELL as the white man who rejects the SAME GOSPEL.

Maybe part of their punishment will be having to spend eternity with whites. Boy! Won't they be "hot under the collar".

Islam: The Fastest Growing Religion in the World

By the turn of the century, nearly one-quarter of the people on earth will consider themselves Muslims. Islam has exploded from 400 million adherents in 1960 to a projected 1.3 billion by the year 2000.. Islam is expanding from its traditional areas into the former Soviet Union, Europe, and North America. CHURCHES FALLING LIKE FLIES. GOING-Going -going….
A Southern Baptist church has voted to allow its ministers to officiate at ceremonies that bless homosexuals. Wake Forest Baptist Church, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, stopped short of affirming homosexual marriages, but asked God to bless "all loving, committed and exclusive relationships between two people."

The president of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina recently warned that the convention would end its relationship with the church if it voted to affirm homosexual unions. "Regardless of how they phrase it, they're sanctioning same-sex marriages," he said after the vote (Christian News, 11/30/98).

[Editor] I believe more churches speak out against smoking and drinking that about sodomy. There is not such a great "hue and cry" that comes from smokers and drinkers as comes from the sodomites. If smokers should battle for their "rights" as ferociously as the sodomites (that’s homosexuals, if you’ve never heard them called what God calls them) do, then cigarettes would not be taboo. Most certainly, cigarettes would be glorified on television, sanctioned in many schools and churches, approved and promoted by our government, and lung cancer research would receive an additional billions of tax dollars to find a cure for a primarily "self inflicted’ disease.

As cigarettes must carry an external health hazard warning label, why not sodomites? "WARNING! ANAL SEX MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH"
